Dear blog we meet again. It has been a
while. Last time we met it was when I still was woofing in weird
hostel. After my so called woofing contract ended I moved to new
hostel. I could have stayed in the one I worked, but it was really so
lifelless and frigid that there wasn't any point. Hostel I choose was
the one where one of my friend from woofing hostel stayed and I thought might as well stay there then.
To save money I had to take 8 people
dorm. First one that big for me. After first night when some asians
woke up 6 AM and started packing for one hour I thought, holy hell
not going to stay here more than week and it already felt gringe worthy.
After a while asians and weird people
moved out and were replaced by really awesome people. Our room no 127
was probably most coolest and active room in the hostel. Hostel was
nice there was porch in our room next to man entrance, where we did
hang out a lot . Drinking beer or otherwise jamming.
To be honest it felt quite awesome when after messing around all day with startup things you come back to hostel and random dude gives you a beer in the kitchen then you go to your room and everyone is just sitting on the floor and drinking beer "hey dude, grab one".
On that same floor someone came up with splendid idea to go stripclub, which was apparently free entrance on sunday.
Day before Sunday jam there was rugby match that got everyone exited for some reason. Some went to see the match and some stayed in bar next to hostel and watched it on TV. Game wan't that exiting to be honest but was enough of a reason to bar and have a beer. After the game we moved to Irish bar where we were taken by hostel bar van. Driver was some crazy local lady and the ride to next pub was experience on it's own. Cool idea tho, to get people to next bar, just drive them there. Irish bar was fun til late night.
Next day, morning I grabbed beer with one of the mates from UK and chilled most of the day at our porch. Soon enough there were tons of people hanging with us and we used every chance to recruit more people to stripclub adventure. Which was called by default super sexy splendid sunday striptease session.
Before stripclub we spent some time same bar we were day before with some beers. This time house was full of older people enjoying their relaxing Sunday. We instead were loud as hell.
Stripclub was not that nice you would expect. Seemed like girls dancing there were first time as well.
Aside form having fun I managed to get some work trough agency as usual. One of the jobs was in seed warehouse where our manager was guy from Ukraine who had lived in NZ more than 15 years. He was quite thrilled when I said I am from Estonia. 2 days I worked there he was really enthusiastic to talk about every sort of political relations with russia. Was interesting to note that after living so long in another counrty he was still strongly attached to his home country and was talking about it like he lived there now.
When I was on one random business meetup someone asked me where I am from while I was ordering a beer and when I said Estonia girl at the counter went "Tõesti vä?". Apparently she was from Estonia as well and had been traveling around for year almost with her friends. After 6 months in NZ and word Estonia being more rare than unicorn at the end of rainbow I was soon enough introduced to 6 of them. Just in time for goodbye party, as bunch of them were to leave NZ soon. Was bit weird after long time to be around Estonians an not speak in English. At least it was fun to play some board games and hang out.
There was big Capoeira workshop in chch. I was tempted to take part of whole event but ended up taking part only on opening night. Was really awesome, lot of capoeira minded people, nice music and good games.
For last night of my stay in chch I
prepared traditionally biscuit cake, grabbed some beers and ended up
half of the hostel in our room partying. That escalated pretty fast.
Was really awesome to stay
there and meet awesome people.
About hitman, not quite sure but for some reason I got this nickname.
