So okay the thing was that I pretty
much had been working straight for a year with no holiday and school
was about to start, meaning it would get lot busier than it already
was. It was time for one holiday pill called Tasmania.
I really enjoyed trip, it reminded
little bit of NZ. Funny thing, Tasmania is bigger than Estonia with a
population of 500 000 something. It really didn't feel like Australia
at all. Because we had only little bit less than 2 weeks there wasn't
time to see everything and we had to decide what can we squeeze into
2 weeks. We took route trough inland and around Cradle Mountain.
Probably most famous sightseeing destination in Tasmania. First
couple of days started out bit rough because it was winter, meaning
it was raining pretty much all the time. And the van we rented was
never completely dry. Luckily it rained mostly at night, so at least
we were able to enjoy dry days. At top of the Cradle Mountain we even got
slush and after 3 hour hike we were completely soaked. Good luck
drying things in a van. But that was luckily last day of rain and we
had booked for next day stay at some famous glamorous
Pump House, which pretty much was old pump house re purposed as a
luxury accommodation place. To be honest at first I was not that
keen on spending dollars on fancy stay while pretty much backpacking
around but I am glad we did stay there. It was good opportunity to
recharge after rainy days and life in a van.
End of the trip we stayed a night on
Bruny Island and couple of nights in Hobart. Enjoyed quiet laid back
city life and visited Mona art museum. I can appreciate good art but
can't say I am a huge fan of it, but this museum kicked ass. It was super
interactive and didn't feel like museum at all. It was kind of museum
that can keep simple people like me entertained for hours.
Anyway, don't remember all the details
any more. Glad I took some photos.
